Your test results will be returned to us within 5 to 7 business days from the date the lab receives your sample. Once we know that your results are available, we will send you an email so that you can login and review them.

NOTE: Per state laws, if you live in California, you will need to email us a prescription from a medical practitioner (could be a physician, physician's assistant, naturopath etc.) in order for us to process your order and send you your test. New York residents may not receive tests per state laws. Having your tests shipped to you outside of California or New York may be the best way to go. (The Air Quality tests and Pet tests do NOT need a prescription and can be sent anywhere needed.)

The Saliva Adrenal Stress Profile assesses the adrenal hormones DHEA-S (DS) and Diurnal Cortisol (Cx4). The test measures the body's levels of cortisol, a stress hormone that is responsible in helping the body respond to daily life stressors. Cortisol hormone saliva testing provides an effective method to determine the excessive or insufficient levels of cortisol in your body, and monitors the expected high and low levels of the cortisol hormone. It requires four samples of saliva taken at different times: morning and nighttime over a 24 hour period.
Cortisol is one of the important hormones produced in the body. If you have excessive amounts of cortisol, you are prone to experience symptoms such as fatigue, weak immune system, hypertension, weight gain and water retention, reduced libido, temporary infertility, and poor coping with stress. On the other hand, if your body is producing insufficient amounts of cortisol, you're likely to experience mood swings, irritability, weight loss, dehydration, hypotension, high level of insulin and low blood glucose, and skin problems.
Monitoring your cortisol hormone levels daily helps in the screening and diagnosis of certain diseases. Cortisol level is usually at its highest between 6-8 A.M. and falls during the day. Increased and decreased cortisol level may be an indication of pituitary and adrenal glands problems. In addition, people who do not experience a diurnal variation - the rise and fall of cortisol level during the day - may be suffering from Cushing Syndrome.
This test is appropriate for individuals under stress with multiple symptoms of Adrenal imbalance, including immune dysfunction, fatigue, allergies and sleep disturbances.
